1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage, store data in your browser in the same way. This policy covers both.
2. What We Use
Arkonos Labs runs no advertising or third-party tracking cookies on this site. We do run first-party website analytics (described in the next section), which does not use cookies or any other on-device storage. The only things we store on your device are:
- Authentication tokens: set only when an administrator signs in to the private admin dashboard. Stored in browser local storage and required for the session to work.
- Interface preferences: small values such as theme or dismissed notices, stored locally on your device.
Strictly necessary storage is exempt from consent requirements under PECR, so no cookie banner is shown. If we ever add marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
3. Site Analytics
We use a first-party analytics system, built and hosted on our own backend, to understand how visitors use this site: for example, which pages are viewed and which enquiry or health-check forms are submitted.
This system does not set a cookie, does not use local storage, and does not assign any ID to your browser or device. Each event we log is a standalone, anonymous record: the page path, where you arrived from (the referring site, or campaign parameters if present in the link you followed), and a general device category (mobile, tablet or desktop). We do not record your IP address, name, or any other directly identifying detail, and events cannot be linked together as belonging to the same visitor or session.
Because this analytics doesn't store or access anything on your device, it sits outside the cookie-consent rules under PECR, which is why no separate banner covers it. We process this limited, anonymous data under UK GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (Article 6(1)(f)); see our Privacy Policy for how we handle data more generally.
4. Third-Party Services
Fonts are served by Google Fonts and our backend is hosted on managed cloud infrastructure. These providers may process your IP address to deliver the request, but they do not set tracking cookies through this site.
5. Managing Cookies
You can delete or block cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage will prevent the admin dashboard from staying signed in, but the public site (including analytics, which uses no on-device storage in the first place) will continue to work normally.
