Websites for electricians that win the jobs worth having
Rewires, EV chargers, EICRs for landlords, commercial contracts: the work that pays best is usually planned, and those customers compare a few electricians before they ring. We tested 43 electricians' websites to see how they'd fare.
01
What we found
We ran 43 electricians' websites through our audit engine between September to October 2026: Google's own speed test on a phone, a live security check and a look at how each one asks for enquiries. These are the results. We don't name anyone.
93% were slower than Google's mark on a phone
Google counts a page as good when its main content shows within 2.5 seconds on a phone. The typical site we tested took 6.9 seconds, and 77% took more than 4. Most people searching on a phone leave before then.
35% had no tap-to-call link
The number was missing or written as plain text, so a customer on a phone has to copy it out by hand. For a business that lives on phone calls, that's work lost on the first screen.
49% had no enquiry form
Plenty of people would rather send a message than ring, especially in the evening. With no form, those enquiries go to whoever has one.
74% had three or fewer of the six standard security protections
Most had the padlock but not the other settings that stop the site being framed, sniffed or downgraded. It's quick to fix, and browsers and Google notice.

What an electrician's site needs
Customers comparing electricians want to know you do their kind of job, that you're registered, and how to get a quote.
A page for each kind of job
Rewires, consumer unit upgrades, EV charger installs, EICRs, fault finding, commercial work. A page each lets you be found for each one, and lets a landlord or a business see straight away that you do what they need.
Your registration, front and centre
NICEIC, NAPIT or whichever scheme you're with, plus any EV charger approvals. Customers look for the logo, and some check the register.
Separate routes for homes and businesses
A homeowner and a facilities manager want different things. Separate pages, and a form that asks which they are, get both to the right answer faster.
A quote form that asks the right questions
Type of property, what the job is, rough timescale and postcode. You get enquiries you can price, not just "please call me".
Fast on a phone, every page
Most of these searches still start on a phone. A page that loads in under 2.5 seconds keeps the customer reading instead of heading back to Google.
03
What every site we build does
The standard we build to, checked before launch, so none of the problems above make it onto your site.
Main content on screen in under 2.5 seconds
Google's own mark for a good page on a phone. We test every page before launch and send you the report.
A tap-to-call number on every page
In the header on phones, so a customer can ring you with one tap from wherever they land.
A short enquiry form that reaches you
Name, number, what they need and where. Every message goes to your inbox, tested end to end before launch.
All six standard security protections
The padlock plus the five settings most sites leave off, so browsers and Google trust the site.
One page for each service and area
So you can be found for each thing you do, not just your business name.
04
What it costs
A fixed price before any work starts
Every build is quoted through our own pricing engine, from the pages, features and content your site needs, so you know the full cost up front. For what drives the price, see our honest breakdown of website costs.
From £85 a month after launch
Website Care covers hosting, security updates, uptime checks and small changes. Month to month, with a month's notice to stop.
Not sure where your current site stands?
The £95 Site Health Check tests your homepage and sends you a plain-English fix list within 48 hours. The fee comes off the price if we go on to do the work.

Questions
Most of my work is commercial. Is a website still worth it?
Yes, especially for planned work. Facilities managers and contractors check you out online before they put you on a tender list. A site that shows your commercial work, registrations and insurance answers their questions before they ask.
Can you add an EV charger page with the grant details?
Yes, and we'll keep it accurate. Grant schemes change, so we'll date the details and update the page when the rules move.
Can you show my NICEIC or NAPIT logo?
Yes. We'll use the official logo under the scheme's rules and link it to your entry on their register where they allow it.
How were these electricians' sites chosen?
They're electrical contractors we found through Google's business listings, mostly in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands, tested between September and October 2026. We never name them.
